Shipping north from the Braeburn Training Center for owner Midge Wilson and trainer Patrick Nuesch, the four-year-old gelding won going 1 ¾ miles on July 28th, winning by three lengths and earing $24,600 for is effort.

Three weeks later, Le Deluge came back and won again, this time going two miles for a $30,600 payday.  His 16 furlong track record time was 3:32.12 and 14 furlong track record time was 2:59.27.

According to the Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred (October 2012), the Wilson/Neusch partnership has been productive for years.  Neusch also broke horses for Wilson’s late husband Orme (a former VTA president) who died in 1991 including Ritchie Trail.  Ritchie Trail was a multiple stakes winner and graded stakes placed winner of $433,215 in the early 1990’s.

Many of the Wilson’s best runnier have descended from the Buckpaser mare Castalie who produced Ritchie Trail and the stakes winner Gamercy, who is the graddam of Le Deluge.
