CLN MAKE UP RACES SCHEDULED

CLN --  Due to the recent cancellation of two race cards from extreme heat and a storm related power outage, Colonial Downs today announced a plan to make up many of those races that were not held.

A full ten race program will be added to closing week festivities on Wednesday July 25th with a 5 PM (EDT) post time. A pair of races will also be added to the Virginia Derby card on July 21st and to closing night’s program on July 28th. As a result, first post on both occasions has been moved up by an hour, to 5 PM on Derby Day (from 6 PM), and to 6 PM on closing night (from 7 PM). The Derby card will now have 14 races including five stakes.

An additional race will also be added to programs scheduled this Saturday July 14 and Sunday July 15.

Colonial Downs cancelled this past Sunday July 8 due to extreme heat, and the prior Sunday July 1 due to a power outage from a storm the evening before. The current summer season will resume this Thursday July 12 at 7 PM.
