Friday evening’s guests on “Off to the Races” include former
Colonial Downs racing analyst Maggie Wolfendale who now works as a paddock
analyst for the New York Racing Association.
Maggie’s experience working horses in the morning and “eye” for
assessing the condition of horses has been as asset to her media career. This will be her first interview in Virginia
since moving to NYRA.
Also on “Off to the Races,” jockey Sheldon Russell who won the riding title at Colonial Downs last summer returns to talk about the upcoming meet and his assignment on Kentucky Derby starter “Done Talking”. Russell won last summer’s Colonial Turf Cup aboard Rahystrada (shown here). Ferris Allen anchors the guest trio completing another interview during his pre-meet week (shown here talking to NBC-12 in Richmond on Friday morning).
With Colonial Downs now racing at night, “Off to the Races”
airs Friday evening at 6:00pm on ESPN AM 950 in Richmond, VA and on the web via
streaming on www.espn950am.com. Hosted by Nick Hahn and “Derby” Bill
Watson, the weekly radio has aired in
Richmond since 1998.
