WAGERING UP IN MARCH

Total worldwide wagering on U.S. races was up again in the month of March posting a 9.4% gain over the same time period last year.  In March of 2011, total handle was $899,283,536 while in March of 2012 that number rose to $984,364,716.

U.S. purses also rose from $78,290,581 to $87,988,508 an increase of 12.39%.

For the year, wagering is up a total of 5.4% and purses have posted a 9.84% increase as well.
