Five Virginia-bred stakes races, the 2010 Virginia-bred championship award presentations and the induction of the late Edward P. Evans into the Virginia Equine Hall of Fame highlight the racecard for the inaugural Commonwealth Turf Festival run in memory of Evans on July 30 at Colonial Downs.
The day will feature the following Virginia-bred stakes races:
The Oakley Stakes presented by Fasig-Tipton, Purse $50,000 Guaranteed, (Registered VA Bred), Fillies And Mares Three Year Olds and Upward, Five And One Half Furlongs (Turf)
The Daniel Van Clief Stakes presented by Don M. Robertson, Purse $50,000 Guaranteed, (Registered VA Bred), Three Year Olds and Upward, One Mile And One-Sixteenth (Turf)
The Bert Allen Stakes presented by Keeneland, Purse $50,000 Guaranteed, (Registered VA Bred), Three Year Olds and Upward, Five And One Half Furlongs (Turf)
The Brookmeade Stakes presented by TracksideOnRadio.com, Purse $50,000 Guaranteed, (Registered VA Bred), Fillies And Mares Three Year Olds and Upward, One Mile (Turf)
