The Virginia Horse Industry Board (VHIB) was established in 1994 as the result of legislation and a statewide referendum. The Board is responsible for the promotion and economic development of the horse industry in Virginia and operates through the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.The VHIB annually accepts grant proposals and awards grants for education, research and marketing. Earlier this year, the VHIB approved 22 grant projects for a total funding amount of $151,846.
