The TRF Gala Fundraiser at Colonial Downs this Sunday will feature:Steeplechase Spotlight: Participation of Jack and Leah Ferguson, representing the Ferguson Family for the running of the Zeke Ferguson Memorial Steeplechase Race, including trophy display, a commissioned painting of Zeke Ferguson and Leeds Don in the Winner's Circle at the VA Gold Cup, and Zeke's racing memorabilia, e.g. silks, etc. Jack Ferguson has a few TRF adoptees on his farm.
Secretariat Celebration: An exclusive appearance by Kate Chenery Tweedy, who will share stories of 'The Meadow' and Secretariat, previewing her soon-to-be-released book: 'Secretariat's Meadow: The Land, The Family, The Legend.' Kate will also sign book covers for advance copies, donating $5 to TRF for each sold.
TRF Winner's Circle Award: Robin Williams will present the first-ever 'TRF Winner's Circle Award' to L. Clay Camp, who will be represented by members of the Camp family, on center stage at Colonial Downs. Camp, who died last year, was a member of the National TRF Board, a long-time supporter of TRF, active in the Montpelier Chapter and instrumental in getting the James River Chapter up and running. The Camp family continues its active involvement in TRF caring for a TRF satellite herd, volunteering and offering financial support.
Auction/Raffle: Auction items range from VIP tickets to the Breeder's Cup to owning racing legacy for a year (Covert Action, grandson of Secretariat, and one of our charges at James River) while the Raffle features premium items from horse blankets to gift certificates.
