The sixth annual Shannon Campbell and Disabled Jockeys’ Fund benefit golf tournament will be held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Royal New Kent Gold course next door to Colonial Downs.
Shannon Campbell was paralyzed from the waist down in a riding accident at Charles Town. She also rode at Colonial Downs. Shannon is one of more than 50 jockeys in the country who are permanently disabled. All proceeds of this golf tournament are for their living and medical expenses.
The event will be a Captain’s Choice with a twelve noon shotgun start. Single players cost $100, and Tee, Hole, Beverage Cart and Lunch sponsorships are also available ranging from $100 to $500.
The event is sponsored by the Virginia HBPA, the Virginia Thoroughbred Association and Colonial Downs.
