TRIPLE CROWN DIRT TO THE TWIN TURF - Two Triple Crown starters are coming off the dirt to the Virginia grass in Saturday's $600,000 Virginia Derby. Stately Victor (KY Derby - 8th) who also won the Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland this April and Interactif hope to spoil Paddy O'Prado bid to tackle the Twin Turf at Colonial. Belmont starter Interactif has a win over Paddy O'Prado as a 2-year old on the Saratoga turf in the With Anticipation (G3).Last month's $500,000 Colonial Turf Cup winner is the favorite (7-5), hoping to capture both sides of Colonial's "Twin Turf" for three-year olds. Last month's pacesetter, Two Notch Road also returns.
Kypton won the Hill Prince on the turf over Belmont Stakes weekend. Awesome Dream, Formula For Success and Magictroubadour also look to spoil.
First race post time for Saturday's 14 races is a half hour earlier at 12:30 pm.
