SPECIAL K DAY - Karamanos won 4 of the 9 races slated on Saturday afternoon including the $50,000 Punch Line Stakes aboard “Elusive Gift”. It was the second stakes win of the meet for the gelding owned and bred in Virginia by Edward P. Evans. Elusive Gift was within a second of the track record of 56.02 despite winning on turf listed as soft. Special K’s other wins were aboard Fou Chevall, Pay Your Way and Temperance Time.Miss Oil has now scored in an allowance race win for her third win of the meet. Miss Oil is named after the veterinarian of Secretariat, Dr. Olive M. Britt, nicknamed “Miss Oil”. O' Gulch also captured his third win of the meet joining Monavista and Freefromthestorm as three-peaters.
Slip Away seeks to Zeke-peat today in the $50,000 Ferguson.
